Sandy Kenyon Reviews: "Think Like A Man Too" and "Jersey Boys"

NEW YORK (WABC) -- The 18th annual American Black Film Festival got underway last night with our first movie.

"Think Like A Man Too" is that rare sequel that's actually funnier than the first film and seeing it with an entire audience of moviegoers who were laughing made it even more enjoyable.

I took Renee who brought 17 year old Destiny and they told me to tell you, "It's hilarious! Go see it!"

Four couples gather in Vegas to attend the wedding of their friends, Candace and mama's boy Michael.

This time, the best scene belongs to the ladies - a bachelorette party gone horribly wrong.

But funny as they are, I pity any performer who has to share the screen with Kevin Hart. As the best man, he's top dog. Lucky for him and lucky for us stealing scenes isn't a crime.

Not every 1 of his jokes hits home and if you find him a bit exhausting, you are probably just weak from laughing so hard. Besides, I'd rather have too much energy than too little.

Jersey Boys

The movie version of "Jersey Boys" is a pale imitation of the hit stage show, though nothing can completely blunt the impact of the true story.

Music fan Clint Eastwood who directed this film remains faithful to the original show - too faithful. John Lloyd Young, who won a Tony Award onstage as Frankie Valli, is too old to play him as a young man and what seems so effective on-stage just does not translate onscreen.

I have great respect for those who made this movie, but one fan who has seen the show more than a dozen times left a screening of "Jersey Boys" very disappointed and i think you will be disappointed too. There is no reason to see the movie when the stage show is so much better.
