The attack was caught on surveillance cameras, according to police.
Authorities also said their investigation revealed that Jones' girlfriend had a confrontation with the mechanic the day prior. Jones accused the victim of touching her.
The owner of the auto shop told Eyewitness News, the woman has known the mechanic for a while and he has known her parents for 15 years. She and the victim did test drive her car and it needed a brake repair.
The mechanic was left scared by the attack and he suffered blurry vision in his right eye.
The owner of the shop added he's not sure why Jones made the allegation. The girlfriend and mechanic were very familiar with each other, to the point the young woman never spoke to the owner, but went directly to the mechanic.
Jones is facing multiple charges, including aggravated assault.
