Investigators said a citizen's tip led them to the Salem-Lafayette apartment complex around 1 p.m. where they safely located Divine Anyanwu.
The girl appeared to be in good health, but was checked out by EMTs as a precaution.
Her parents were immediately notified and responded.
Investigators are still investigating exactly what happened.
