Swan rescued from frozen pond in Rye, taken to wildlife facility

RYE, Westchester County (WABC) -- First responders came to the rescue of a swan that got stuck to the surface of a frozen pond in Rye, Westchester County.

Video shows a rescuer delicately lifting the bird off the ice and carrying it to shore.

The swan was transferred to a wildlife rehab facility, Animal Nation.

This was not the first swan rescued in the area this winter.

Two weeks ago, another swan had to be pulled from the icy river in Norwalk, Connecticut.
