SUNY, CUNY and some private NY schools waive application fees for in-state applicants

NEW YORK (WABC) -- New Yorkers applying to SUNY and CUNY schools will not need to pay application fees during a portion of October and November.

It is part of the state's College Application Month program.

Governor Kathy Hochul announced the program's return for its third consecutive year.

SUNY schools will waive up to five applications fees per student from October 20 through November 3.

CUNY schools are waiving application fees from October 27 to November 21 for New York City high school students, and from November 10 to November 21 for students outside of New York City.



Some private schools including Adelphi. Colgate, Fordham, Hofstra, and Pace University are also waiving fees for in-state applicants.

Nearly 130 colleges and universities are participating in the statewide program.
