Teen struck by concrete debris that fell from awning

JACKSON HEIGHTS, Queens (WABC) -- One person was hurt after being struck by a piece of debris that fell from an awning in Jackson Heights, Queens on Saturday afternoon, the FDNY said.

The victim was hit just after noon on Saturday.

A witness at the scene said that she saw a teen boy on the ground unconscious, with a wound on his head.

The debris appeared to be a heavy piece of concrete masonry.

Emergency workers took the injured person to Elmhurst Hospital for treatment.



The area was taped off by the FDNY.
