Truck carrying 8,000 pound transformers collides with car on the Alexander Hamilton Bridge

THE BRONX (WABC) -- An accident involving a tractor-trailer and a Tesla has been cleared in the Bronx after snarling the morning commute.

The truck, which was carrying 8,000 pound transformers, collided with a car on the Alexander Hamilton Bridge.

Traffic was impacted on the Cross Bronx, George Washington Bridge and Major Deegan Expressway.



Crews on the scene worked to clear up the spill, which also turned into a gasoline leak after one of the transformers hit the truck's fuel tank.



All northbound lanes heading toward the Major Deegan Expressway have reopened but the area continues to experience residual delays.
