Sunday, January 11, 2015
NEW YORK (WABC) -- Three days of terror began in Paris Wednesday when brothers Said and Cherif Kouachi stormed the newsroom of Charlie Hebdo, killing 12 people. Al-Qaida's branch in Yemen said it directed the attack by the masked gunmen to avenge the honor of the Prophet Muhammad, a frequent target of the weekly's satire.

That along with recent attacks in Australia and Canada are raising questions among many in New York, and indeed we are seeing beefed up security at a number of locations, including media organizations.

Joining us to discuss to the threat of terrorism is New York City's longest serving police commissioner who's now a consultant with ABC News and the president of risk management and services for Cushman and Wakefield, Ray Kelly.

Also with us is Nick Casale, who was the MTA's first ever deputy director of security for counter terrorism. Before then he had a long career with the NYPD, and he is a frequent guest at WABC.

Plus, a stunning outpouring of support for families of two NYPD officers killed in the line of duty. A foundation created after 9/11 has raised enough money to pay off the mortgages of Detectives Rafael Ramos and Wen Jian Liu.
