Up Close: What's next for Chris Christie?

NEW YORK (WABC) -- New Jersey Governor Chris Christie is adamantly tring to deflect the heat for his controversial endorsement of Donald Trump, and rejecting growing calls for his resignation as governor.

So what does the embattled governor do next?

Seven newspapers in New Jersey, with a history of not exactly liking the governor, called for Christie's resignation because of the Trump endorsement and the time he has spent out of state on presidential politics.

This week, we'll talk with former New Jersey Governor Christine Todd Whitman, former New Jersey Governor and current State Senator Richard Codey, and Republican State Senator Joe Pennacchio, who supported Christie in the presidential race.

Pennacchio ran against the Republican establishment for New Jersey's U.S. Senate seat in 2008.
