The fire broke out in the garage of a home located at 1817 N. Monroe Ave. around 12:20 p.m.
It then spread to the home and a neighboring home on the same street.
Fire officials say both homeowners were able to evacuate their home.
No injuries were reported, but the fire reduced much of the two homes to rubble.

Flames tear through two homes in West Islip, Suffolk County
Suffolk County Police Arson Section detectives are investigating the fire, which authorities say appears to be non-criminal.
