The victims were found inside the residence. Sources tell Eyewitness News that the two minors were boys -- a 10th-grader and an 8th-grader.
Two of the victims were rushed to Westchester Medical Center, and a third to New York Presbyterian Hudson Valley Hospital.
The 10th-grader was pronounced dead at the hospital and the 8th-grader is in critical condition. The mother is said to be stable.
Jiminez was taken into custody just before 11 a.m. Tuesday. He is not the father of the boys.
He was arraigned Tuesday night and charged with second-degree murder and two counts of second-degree attempted murder.
New York State Police had issued shelter-in-place orders for residents in Westchester County and closed schools in the Putnam Valley district for the day amid the search for the gunman.
The Somers Central school district said in a message on its website it canceled all afterschool activities on Tuesday "in light of the tragic incident that has impacted our community. While our schools are safe and secure, given the gravity of the situation and out of respect for the family, we have opted to cancel all afterschool activities."
The motive behind the shooting also remains in question as New York State Police lead the investigation.
