NYACK, N.Y. (WABC) -- A mother accused of murdering her son with a lethal amount of sodium in Westchester County on Thursday has a set trial date of Jan. 26.
Lacey Spears is accused of killing her 5-year-old son Garnett in Nyack, Rockland County. Court last adjourned in the case in October.
The trial will begin with hearings, and jury selection could begin the same day. There will be a hearing Jan. 15 when lawyers will apply to introduce incidents from Spears' past during the trial.
Police said Spears poisoned the boy with sodium at least three times before he died in January.
She denies killing her child. Spears faces 25 years to life in convicted.
Prosecutors allege that Garnett Spears was killed by his mother Lacey with a high dose of sodium.
