Woman on bike wanted in attempted luring of 10-year-old boy in Astoria

ASTORIA, Queens (WABC) -- Police are searching for a woman accused of trying to lure a child into a van in Queens.

This happened Monday around 5:15 p.m. in the area of Crescent Street and 33rd Avenue in Astoria.

Authorities say the woman approached the 10-year-old boy on her bicycle, and followed him when he refused to go inside the vehicle.

The boy managed to escape and was not hurt.

The woman is described as having a medium build and medium complexion. She was last seen wearing a burgundy T-shirt, black pants, and black sneakers.
