Woman fatally struck, dragged in Brownsville hit-and-run crash

BROWNSVILLE, Brooklyn (WABC) -- A pedestrian was fatally struck in the Brownsville section of Brooklyn on Friday morning.

The victim, a woman in her 30s, was crossing Pitkin Avenue at Mother Gaston Boulevard just before 6:50 a.m. when she was struck by a grey vehicle westbound on Pitkin Avenue.

The vehicle did not stop.

The victim was pronounced dead at the scene. Her identity has not yet been released.

Surveillance video obtained by Eyewitness News shows the car driving down Pitkin Avenue.



The video appears to show that the woman was under the car being dragged for two blocks, with her body eventually falling onto the street outside a laundromat.

Police are still searching for the driver involved.
