ASTORIA (WABC) -- An accident involving a New York City bus claimed the life of a 55-year-old woman late Wednesday.
The woman, identified as Melania Ward, was struck by the Q47 bus around 10 p.m. at Astoria Boulevard and 80th Street in Astoria. She later died at Elmhurst Hospital.
Eyewitnesses say the woman was hit as the bus made a right turn.
The driver stayed at the scene, and at this point, no criminality is involved.
The investigation is ongoing.
