Woman found murdered inside Washington Heights apartment

WASHINGTON HEIGHTS, Manhattan (WABC) -- It was a grim discovery for officers who were asked to check in on someone in Washington Heights after they found a woman murdered.

Officers arrived on West 156th Street on Sunday afternoon, where they found the 27-year-old unconscious and unresponsive.

There were also signs of trauma on the woman's face and neck.

The Medical Examiner is working to determine the cause of death while police hunt down a suspect.
