Lin-Manuel Miranda distributes donated toys to hurricane-affected children for Three Kings Day

EAST HARLEM, Manhattan (WABC) -- The creator of Broadway's Tony-winning Hamilton, along with city officials helped bring a little bit of joy to children affected by Hurricane Irma and Maria.

Lin-Manuel Miranda, Mayor Bill de Blasio and the Hispanic Federation distributed more donated toys for Three Kings Day.

They did this as part of an event in East Harlem - with cultural performances, crafts and food.

The holiday is one of the most important celebrations for Puerto Ricans and Latin Americans.
