The flames broke out on Borden Avenue in Long Island City just before 8 p.m. Saturday - and quickly grew to four alarms.
The billowing smoke and flames forced traffic delays in the area. People living nearby were advised to keep their windows closed.
No one was injured.
There is still no word on what sparked the fire.
