The victims were attacked inside a home on Sunnyside Terrace in the Grymes Hill section just before 4:30 p.m.
An 81-year-old man was killed. Two other male victims, a 78-year-old and 51-year-old, were taken to Richmond University Medical Center.
The 78-year-old is in serious condition, while the 51-year-old is in stable condition.
A 57-year-old man was arrested.
It's not clear what the motive was for the attack.
