Stony Brook University basketball player charged with rape

STONY BROOK, Long Island (WABC) -- A Stony Brook University basketball player has been arrested and charged with rape on Wednesday according to campus police.

According to Stony Brook University Police, 22-year-old Blair Mendy was charged with rape in the third degree and sexual misconduct.

The sophomore guard, originally from San Jose, California, is expected to be arraigned on Thursday.
