Man spit on, attacked with expandable baton on Brooklyn subway

SUNSET PARK, Brooklyn (WABC) -- A man was spit on and assaulted with an expandable baton on a Brooklyn subway train Wednesday morning, and police are hoping surveillance video of the suspect will lead to an arrest.

It happened on a southbound N train near the Fort Hamilton Avenue subway stop.

Authorities say the suspect approached the 41-year-old victim from behind and spit in his face.

When the victim began recording him, the man pulled out an expandable baton and began hitting him before punching him in the face.


The victim was hospitalized and is expected to recover.
