They say the suspect asked the victim for money before pushing him onto the tracks.

The 36-year-old victim suffered minor bruises to his knees, hands and ears.
He was taken to Bellevue Hospital.

Police later arrested 23-year-old Justin Pena on charges of attempted murder and reckless endangerment.
On Jan. 16, Pena was arrested for allegedly punching a 62-year-old man riding on a southbound F train in the vicinity of the 23rd Street station in Chelsea. The victim suffered lacerations.
