NEW YORK (WABC) -- The nasty, and for millions of Americans, frightening protracted battle over health care continues.

Senate Republicans, divided and unable to reach consensus, pushed the vote past the July 4th holiday.

So just how would the proposed GOP bill affect Americans?

And is this talk of a possible bipartisan compromise just talk, or something real?

We talk to one of the country's premier health care experts: Michael Sparer, Chair of Health Policy and Management at Columbia University's Mailman School of Public Health.

Also this week, 1967 was a time of upheaval: social and political, cultural and personal.
