NEW YORK (WABC) -- WABC-TV, the Hispanic Federation and Univision joined forces to raise awareness about voter registration as part of National Voter Registration Day on Tuesday.
The Voter Registration Drive was held in Queens, where volunteers worked together to create broad awareness of voter registration opportunities in an effort to reach tens of thousands of voters who may not register otherwise.

Imelda Rosario Riera, 76, was beaming because for the first time since she became a U.S. Citizen in June, she is now eligible to vote.
"First and foremost, we have to be patriots," she said. "And that's why I came here today, to register to vote and to give back what this country has given us."
Make The Road New York and the Hispanic Federation hosted the National Voter Registration Day Registration Drive outside the Make the Road New York offices at 92-10 Roosevelt Avenue in Jackson Heights.
