Woman struck, killed by hit-and-run driver in Coney Island

CONEY ISLAND, Brooklyn (WABC) -- A woman was struck and killed by a hit-and-run driver on Friday morning in Brooklyn.

She was hit at the intersection of Shell Road, Shore Parkway and West Sixth Street just before 10:30 a.m.

She was pronounced dead at the scene.

Eyewitnesses said a dump truck was making a left turn onto Shell Road while the 75-yea-old victim was crossing the street, striking her and pinning her under the vehicle.

The dump truck then left the scene.

A second vehicle, a Jeep Grand Cherokee, also ran over her while she was lying on the street and also fled the scene.

Few other details were released.
