Both AT&T and Verizon have put plans to introduce the 5G network on hold due to the warning.
Describing it as a deep concern, the agency says the new technology could affect a plane's radar altimeter, especially when landing in bad weather.

A bulletin was sent to aircraft manufacturers and operators, asking for any data that could help them understand if the 5G network is safe.
"We're gonna have to see what the FAA will do, not only working with the technology providers, but the aviation industry to make sure that there is enough testing involved," National Security expert Javed Ali said.
Other countries have already launched the 5G technology.

So far, the FAA hasn't seen any evidence of any harmful signals.
