Service on the 4, 5, and 6 trains was suspended in both directions at around 3:30 p.m. as emergency crews searched for the dog after it apparently got loose and ran onto the tracks at the 86th Street station at the intersection of Lexington Avenue and 86th Street on the Upper East Side.

An NYPD transit officer ultimately found the pup shortly after 4 p.m. underneath a train car more than 60 blocks away, near the 23rd Street station at the intersection of Park Avenue South and 23rd Street.
The dog was later reunited with its owner.
Train service was resumed, but delays persisted throughout the evening commute.
