FARMINGDALE, Nassau County (WABC) -- It was an emotional night at Farmingdale High School.

The school's marching band, comprised of several hundred members, performed for the first time since the deadly bus crash in Orange County on September 21.

The crash claimed the lives of 43-year-old band director Gina Pellettiere and 77-year-old retired teacher Beatrice Ferrari.

The bus was carrying 40 students from the high school, heading to the Poconos for a weekend band camp event.

The band performed at halftime of the school's homecoming football game against Baldwin which began at 6:30 p.m. Friday.

A moment of silence was held.
