The drone was deployed on Monday night while firefighters were working on a 4-alarm fire in the Crotona Park section of the Bronx.

The drone is new technology that lets supervisors see what exactly is burning so they know where to direct firefighters.

The FDNY Incident Commander on the scene was able to see a birds-eye view of the roof of the burning, six-story building.
FDNY released these photos showing the drone in action:
Hot spots on the roof were easily seen using the drones infrared camera.

No injuries were reported in Monday's fire in the Bronx.
