The 23-year-old driver struck the curb, drove across the intersection and went through the house before coming out the other side.
The vehicle then crashed through the home's detached garage.
Someone was inside the house at the time on the second floor but there were no injuries reported from inside the home.
At this time, no criminality is suspected.
"It's insane, you're supposed to feel safe in your home, this car went right through what appears to be their den, you're supposed to be safe at home and a car goes flying through," Hicksville resident Lorraine Burnard said. "This person did not put their foot on the brake, I mean it's obvious."
The Town of Oyster Bay Building Department responded and deemed the home uninhabitable.
The investigation is ongoing.
