Man in critical condition after being struck by stolen U-Haul in Queens hit-and-run

LONG ISLAND CITY, Queens (WABC) -- A search is underway after a man was struck by a U-Haul truck that fled the scene in Queens.

It happened after police tried to stop the truck just before 9:30 p.m. Wednesday at 21st Street and Borden Avenue in Long Island City.

The driver did not pull over for police and struck a man in his 60s. The driver fled the scene. Police believe the U-Haul was stolen.

The victim was taken to Bellevue Hospital in critical condition.

No arrests have been made.

It happened at virtually the same time another hit-and-run investigation was unfolding in Woodside, Queens.
