LIRR service between Valley Stream and Far Rockaway resumes after car ends up on tracks

NEW YORK (WABC) -- LIRR service has resumed after a vehicle on the train tracks caused travel headaches during rush hour Thursday.

Far Rockaway Branch service was suspended in both directions between Valley Stream and Far Rockaway.

Due to the incident, NYC Transit cross-honored LIRR tickets at New York Penn Station and Rockaway Boulevard for the A train.

There's no word yet on how or why the vehicle got on the tracks.
