Missing 3-year-old last seen with family friend in Bronx found safe

BELMONT, Bronx (WABC) -- A 3-year-old boy who was reported missing by his mother in the Bronx on Thursday evening was found safe on Friday.

The child's mother said he was last seen with her friend leaving their apartment on East 189th Street around 7 p.m.

That friend had permission to take him for a walk, but they never returned home.

Further investigation revealed they boarded a BX41 MTA bus at Fordham Road and Webster Avenue just before 7:30 p.m.

They had not been seen or heard from since, prompting police to put out an alert.

The circumstances surrounding the incident were not yet known.
