Police say the gunman walked up to Jayquan Lewis and shot him several times inside B.H. Gourmet Deli on Bainbridge Ave. in Fordham just after 4 p.m. on Friday.
The victim's mother saw her son being rushed to the hospital, but didn't know he had passed. She said he went to the deli to get something to drink.
Police say they do not know if the victim and gunman exchanged words.
The motive of the shooting is unknown.
