NEW JERSEY (WABC) -- NJ Transit has announced rail service in and out of New York Penn Station is operating with up to 30-minute delays and select cancellations Friday after Thursday's signal issue at the Amtrak Portal Bridge.

The issue happened during construction work on the bridge and led to a complete suspension of service on NJ Transit trains in and out of NY Penn Station just after 10:30 a.m. Thursday.

Cancellations and delays continued for the rest of the day.
