12-year-old girl killed in Bronx house fire, police say

WAKEFIELD, The Bronx (WABC) -- A 12-year-old girl was killed after a fire broke out at a home in the Bronx.

Flames broke out around 4:30 p.m. Saturday on Boyd Avenue near Pittman in the Wakefield section.

When firefighters entered the home, they found the 12-year-old dead. A 7-year-old boy was taken to the hospital in stable condition and a 47-year-old man refused medical attention.



The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
