Man critically injured after falling off van traveling through Queens

FOREST HILLS, Queens (WABC) -- A 32-year-old man was critically injured when he lost his grip on a van while hanging on the side of the vehicle as it traveled through Forest Hills, Queens.

The man was holding onto the exterior of the van, which was heading eastbound on Metropolitan Avenue, when he fell off near 71st Avenue just before 7:25 p.m. Sunday.

He fell to the ground, striking his head.



He was taken to Jamaica Medical Center with severe head trauma, and is listed in critical condition.

The van kept going, and police are looking to talk to the driver.
