A 14-year-old and a 16-year-old were arrested and charged in connection with a car crash in Staten Island Monday that damaged a home.

Police say the driver of a 2012 Nissan Rogue was driving recklessly on Grasmere Avenue. As officers pursued the SUV, the driver lost control and crashed into a two-story home at the corner of Grasmere and Mosel avenues.

After a brief search, the two teenagers were taken into custody.

The 14-year-old is facing a criminal possession of stolen property charge. The 16-year-old is facing a slew of charges, including grand larceny, unlawful fleeing a police officer and reckless endangerment.

The family inside the home was reluctant to go on camera on Monday but said they are relieved to be OK.

The owner of the car said he recognized it immediately from posts of the crash scene on social media.
