Suspected stolen SUV plows into Staten Island home; 2 in custody
STATEN ISLAND (WABC) -- The driver of an SUV lost control and crashed into a home early Monday morning in Staten Island.
Police say a 2012 Nissan Rogue was driving recklessly in an unknown direction on Grasmere Avenue. The driver then crashed into 2 Grasmere Ave. - a two-story private residence.
Two people of interest are in custody. Sources say the vehicle was stolen on July 12.
There were no injuries reported, according to the Department of Buildings.
The DOB issued a partial vacate order and ordered the building's owner to enlist an engineer to submit a report on the structural stability of the building.
