Broadway debut: Aya Cash on 'Giant,' John Lithgow and confronting Roald Dahl's legacy

Updated 3 hours ago
NEW YORK (WABC) -- Say the name Roald Dahl, and you likely think of "Matilda," "Charlie and the Chocolate Factory," even "James and the Giant Peach."

But on stage in the new play "Giant," there's a different part of his life on display.

The show draws on Dahl's controversial comments over the years, imagining a conversation between the children's book author and his inner circle as they grapple with the fallout.

John Lithgow plays Dahl, and he spends most of the show sparring with Jessie Stone, played by Aya Cash.

Joelle Garguilo sat down with Aya Cash. Watch their full conversation in the video player above.
