SHEEPSHEAD BAY, Brooklyn (WABC) -- Police are searching for a driver who fled the scene of a deadly crash in Brooklyn on Sunday evening.

Two people were killed when a Mercedes slammed into a motocycle on the Belt Parkway in the Sheepshead Bay section of Brooklyn.

Surveillance video captured the violent impact which was so intense the car flipped and crashed into several parked vehicle.

Police say a white Mercedes Benz was speeding westbound on the Belt Parkway late Sunday night collided with a motorcycle on the exit to Shore Parkway.

The sedan crashed through a median, trees, a fence and onto three parked cars.

The sound woke neighbors up.

"A lot of people go out from the buildings to see what's happened. And my son knew it was here and that was really terrible because we saw a young man was laying there on the road," Inna Matsipura said.

Police said the male driver of the sedan ran away. Surveillance video shows a person leaving the scene.

A 22-year-old man who was a passenger in the sedan was brought to the hospital but soon pronounced dead.

The 28-year-old motorcycle driver was also killed.

"If you're ever outside late at night for any reason, you could hear really loud engines flying down, you can tell how fast they're going," said Stephen Livshits, who was visiting family near the crash. "They go nuts on the Belt sometimes on this stretch."

A nurse at nearby Coney Island Hospital had just finished a 12 hour shift, only to come back and find her parked car undriveable.

"Thank God I'm okay. I wasn't here but if I'm here sitting or sleeping or if I'm driving and this happened, it saved my life. It's just a car," the nurse said.
