WASHINGTON HEIGHTS, Manhattan (WABC) -- Debris fell onto a passing car in Washington Heights, injuring one person.

It happened in the westbound lanes of the Trans-Manhattan Expressway, part of Interstate 95, just before 8 a.m. on Wednesday.

One person was taken to the hospital.

The westbound approach to the lower level of the George Washington Bridge is now closed, and drivers were being diverted to the upper level.

A clip went viral of a chunk of concrete hitting another car last Thursday, May 7, in what appeared to be similar location.

The Port Authority was on the scene to evaluate the area underneath the George Washington Bridge Bus Terminal.
