Dozens arrested outside MSG perimeter as celebrations turn rowdy; Wembanyama struck by trash

Updated 3 hours ago
NEW YORK CITY (WABC) -- No watch party outside Madison Square Garden for Game 4 of the NBA Finals didn't stop people from partying in the streets - and at times it got out-of-hand.

As the San Antonio Spurs headed inside their hotel after the game, some people threw trash at Victor Wembanyama. In a video, it appears he was struck by an egg.

In Midtown, some fans were climbing taxis and trucks. An NYPD vehicle was left in bad shape as well as other property damage.

This all comes after police created a perimeter from 6th to 8th avenues that was already in place from when President Donald Trump attended Game 3. Outside of the perimeter is where much of the rowdy activity happened, ending with dozens of arrests.

There were no arrests at Wolman Rink, Central Park or the Brooklyn Bowl.

Knicks vs. Spurs Game 5 will be on ABC on Saturday night.
