For the best views, central New York might be the best place to go. Some peak foliage conditions can also be found in parts of Hudson Valley, but has been a mixed bag so far.
In Poughkeepsie, some trees are sporting a brilliant shade of red. While in others, the change of color has been less dramatic.
Meteorologist Lee Goldberg says that's because of milder nights and the prolonged lack of rain.

Peak season has also arrived across much of Connecticut. You can check the interactive map on the Department of Energy and Environmental Protection website for the the best areas.
In New Jersey, fall foliage season has reached moderate stage across much of the state with peak viewing in the north. The New Jersey Forest Service posts updated fall foliage conditions on its Facebook page and you can find the best places to visit during the month at visitnj.org.
According to AccuWeather, due to recent weather patterns across the United States, some of the most breathtaking displays of fall foliage may emerge in regions beyond the usual hotspots.
One of the best resources to find those locations across the country is the fall foliage prediction map from Smoky Mountains National Park. You can check color projections for anywhere in the country on a weekly basis through November 20.
