The victim was shot in the head inside the basement of the M Lounge Restaurant at 2362 Jerome Ave. in the Fordham section just after 4:25 a.m. He was then brought outside to the sidewalk, where he was pronounced dead.
People in the area say the victim was a 29-year-old DJ. Police have not yet released the victim's identity. The victim's wife off camera told Eyewitness News that her husband was at the restaurant selling sunglasses last night.
Police said the suspects fled on foot following the shooting. Investigators are searching for two men believed to have been involved. No arrests have been made.
The investigation is ongoing.
