VALHALLA, New York (WABC) -- This week's MTA Heroes brought holiday magic to kids at the Maria Fareri Children's Hospital in Valhalla, New York.
Members of the Valhalla Police Department's Patrol and Highway Division joined the Police Explorers to help out kids through "Operation Blue Santa."
The Police Explorers program seeks to introduce youth to a possible career in law enforcement or a related field in the criminal justice system.
In "Operation Blue Santa," local law enforcement agencies parked outside of the Maria Fareri Children's Hospital in Valhalla and flashed the bright lights from their patrol vehicles.
They waved to the young patients and donated toys.
