That's because owner Aiden Sterlin is just 18 years old.
He's already looking toward a bright future for Tacos del Barrio in Downtown Brooklyn.
"I am the owner. I am here making sure everything is awesome. People have the greatest experience when they walk in. And my coworkers as well," Sterlin said.
He said he got a great opportunity from two men he met and now he's doing what he has to do to make it all work.
"School would be from 7 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. and then from 12 p.m. to 12 a.m. I was here doing anything I could to help out," he said.
Despite barely getting any sleep, he wouldn't change a thing.
"I always wanted to do something of my own, not working 9 to 5, not being told, you know, to do something by someone, but have my creativity and my freedom," Sterlin said. "But I still get told what to do because I'm just a kid and I'm learning. But from that, you have the experience and simply just grow."
He is doing his best to use TikTok and social media to grow his following.
"You can never get too much of food nowadays, especially you have social media. You scroll through TikTok and you see such good meals and everybody's saying good things about it. And I just want people to be happy whenever they try my food. And that's what we're doing here," he said.
They feature eight proteins and keep the menu small on purpose because he says, "less is more."
Sterlin said they use quality ingredients and do their best to keep the price fair, all while growing his dreams.
"The future, is that I'm opening up the second location in two, three months, two and a half months. It's going to be in Financial District on John and Nassau Street. And the goal is to expand rapidly, like keep the consistency of the flavors and everything that goes along with it," he said. "I want to be everywhere. I want to have everything. You know, that's the goal. You know, Nike's slogan, Just do it. I want to do it."
