SEACAUCUS, New Jersey (WABC) -- A brush fire burned in Secaucus on Thursday afternoon and impacted traffic on the New Jersey Turnpike.

Delays were reported in both directions after the fire started around 2:30 p.m.

The New Jersey Forest Fire Service assisted the Secaucus Fire Department trying to put out the multi-acre wildfire in the area of mile marker 111 of the turnpike.

The right lane was closed between 15 X and 16 E on Northbound Eastern Spur.

Shortly after 4 p.m., the fire was out, but there were still some residual traffic delays.

The brush fire also complicated repairs to power issues that suspended NJ Transit and Amtrak service on the northeast corridor.
