NJ Transit rail service resumes with delays at Penn Station following brush fire

NEW YORK CITY (WABC) -- NJ Transit rail service has resumed with delays into and out of Penn Station New York following a brush fire on Wednesday.

Officials say the brush fire was near one of the Hudson River tunnels.

NJ Transit rail service into and out of the Penn Station had been completely suspended, but has since resumed, and is subject to up to 90-minute delays.

Midtown Direct train service, which had been diverted to Hoboken, has resumed into Penn Station New York.

NJ Transit rail tickets and passes are being cross honored by NJ Transit and private carrier bus and PATH at Newark Penn Station, Hoboken, and 33rd Street NY.
