Trucks will spray pesticides in sections of the Bronx from 8:30 p.m. Monday to 6 a.m. Tuesday.
Spraying in parts of Staten Island will begin from 8:30 a.m. Wednesday to 6 a.m. Thursday.
The Health Department recommends staying indoors during the spraying, if possible, due to potential sensitivity to the ingredients.
On Tuesday, New York state reported its first human case of West Nile virus this year in Onondaga County.
West Nile virus has been detected in mosquitoes in the Bronx, Brooklyn, Queens, and Staten Island this summer.
